Reay at Reay Golf Course

Reay Golf Course occupies windswept linksland on the north coast of Scotland in Caithness, roughly midway between Thurso and the village of Reay itself. The course looks out across the Pentland Firth toward Orkney, and the exposed setting subjects play to the full force of North Atlantic weather. James Braid laid out the original design, and Donald Steel later contributed modifications that refined the routing and strategic elements. The combination of these two architects' work has produced a links that respects traditional principles while adapting to the dramatic coastal terrain.
