QUIVIRA GOLF CLUB
🇲🇽 Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, MX
Designed by Jack Nicklaus

Quivira Golf Club occupies a dramatic stretch of coastline at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. Jack Nicklaus routed the course across rugged desert terrain marked by granite outcroppings, arroyos, and steep elevation changes, with several holes playing directly along clifftops high above the water. The property's natural topography and oceanfront setting shape the character of the design, which moves through sandy waste areas and native vegetation between the shoreline and inland dunes.
The routing includes multiple holes with views of the ocean, and several play close enough to the cliffs that the Pacific becomes a visual and strategic element. The course features significant elevation changes throughout, with some holes descending toward the water and others climbing back into the desert landscape. Nicklaus incorporated the site's rock formations and natural contours into the design, creating a layout that emphasizes the contrast between the arid terrain and the coastline.
Quivira opened in 2014 as part of a residential and resort development on the Cabo corridor. The course serves resort guests and members, fitting into the region's concentration of golf facilities that attract visitors to Los Cabos. The design reflects Nicklaus's approach to dramatic coastal sites, using the natural features and ocean presence to define the golf experience. The club includes practice facilities and amenities typical of high-end resort golf properties in the area.
Reviews
Played here on my honeymoon. It was a pricey round but the views are worth it. I have a lot of ocean courses I have not played but I would like to think this the actual views here might be better than that of a Pebble Beach or Bandon Dunes. I have not played Diamanté up the road but I don’t think its setting can beat this. Service was incredible and out of this world with stacked turn stations four times on the course. Holes were an awesome mix of risk vs reward. An insanely crazy layout. Really awesome par 3s and most of the inland holes were super intriguing as well. Only downside is their pro shop is trash and everything is 2x the price that it normally is ($250 PM polo is insane). The golf which really matters was out of this world good.
