QUAIL RUN GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 La Pine, OR, USA
Designed by Jim Ramey

Quail Run Golf Course sits in La Pine, a small community in central Oregon approximately 30 miles south of Bend. The course occupies high desert terrain characteristic of the region, where ponderosa pine forests meet open volcanic landscapes. Designed by Jim Ramey, the layout reflects the practical design approach common to many Pacific Northwest courses developed to serve local and regional play rather than destination golf.
The routing works through relatively level to gently rolling terrain, with the natural pine forest providing definition and framing for many holes. Central Oregon's volcanic soil and climate create firm playing conditions during much summer months, and the area's elevation—around 4,200 feet—means cooler temperatures than the Willamette Valley to the west. The course serves both La Pine residents and visitors exploring the Newberry National Volcanic Monument and other nearby recreational areas.
Quail Run functions as an accessible public facility in a region where golf options are more limited than in the Bend area to the north. The setting offers views toward the Cascade Range when weather permits, and the high desert environment provides a distinct playing experience compared to the lusher courses found in western Oregon's wetter climate zones.
