PUAKEA GOLF CLUB
πΊπΈ Lihue, HI, USA
Designed by Robin Nelson

Puakea Golf Club, carved from the heart of Kauai's lush interior, stands as testament to the island's dramatic, volcanic landscape. This open-style course, a late 1990s creation, presents a generous layout where wayward tee shots are often forgiven, but approaches demand accuracy to undulating, receptive greens. The trade winds that whip across the open expanse favor shot-shapers who can control their ball flight and capitalize on the ever-changing conditions.
Designed by Robin Nelson, Puakea's layout takes full advantage of the terrain's natural contours and water features. While not a frequent host to televised professional events, it has been the site of local and regional amateur championships, testing the skills of Hawaii's top golfers.
Puakea, while perhaps not globally renowned, offers a quintessential Kauai golf experience. A round here is less about battling a relentlessly penal layout and more about enjoying the scenery and camaraderie of your playing partners.
