PRINCESS ANNE COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Virginia Beach, VA, USA
Designed by Tim Liddy

Princess Anne Country Club, a beacon of Virginia Beach society since its inception, isn't just a golf course, it's a tangible link to the area's evolving identity. The club's history is tightly entwined with the growth of this vibrant coastal community.
Originally crafted in the late 1960s, the course showcases an updated Mid-Century parkland design that embraces the region's coastal plains. With generous fairways allowing players to swing freely off the tee, the course provides a welcoming experience for members and guests alike, but beware, the inward nine tightens up considerably, and features contoured green complexes that can prove devilishly difficult to read. With the ever present wind of the Chesapeake Bay, it certainly lends itself to a memorable round.
While it may not host major championships or garner national attention, Princess Anne Country Club remains a beloved fixture of the Virginia Beach golf scene, fostering a vibrant social hub with a strong, close-knit membership. A notable anecdote is that many of the founding members had a hand in shaping Virginia Beach's civic identity, and even today, the club remains a place where local leaders and families connect and celebrate the area's unique lifestyle. And their She Crab soup is renown!
