POINT GREY GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇨🇦 Vancouver, British Columbia, CA
Designed by Graham Cooke

Point Grey Golf & Country Club is a vestige of Vancouver's golfing past, a place where the ghosts of hickory-shafted giants still seem to roam the fairways lining the bluffs above the Fraser River. The course is a compelling blend of eras with its original design by A.V. Macan from 1922, representing a classic parkland layout, later refined by the influence of Bill Robinson, and most recently revamped in part by Jeff Mingay.
The course itself rolls gently through stands of mature evergreens, rewarding strategic play more than brute force. Tight fairways and cleverly placed bunkers, especially near the greens, ask golfers to think their way around. Its charm lies in its subtle challenges and classic feel, and the west coast weather making conditions soft. It's a walkable layout that tests a player's ability to control their ball and manage the course.
While not a regular stop for professional tournaments, Point Grey is a stalwart in amateur circles, fostering a deeply rooted club culture. For decades, Point Grey has been the domain of Vancouver's established families, and its membership roster is a veritable who's who of local business and civic leaders, who can be found enjoying the camaraderie of post-round drinks on the patio overlooking the water, swapping stories and cementing relationships that extend far beyond the golf course.
