BERKELEY HILLS COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Duluth, GA, USA
Designed by Arthur Davis, Gary Player, Ron Kirby
At Berkeley Hills Country Club, the original Pine Hills and Rolling Hills nines are a testament to Georgia golf in the late 1960s, a period of expanding suburban landscapes meeting established golfing traditions northeast of Atlanta. Carved through the gently rolling terrain of Duluth, it presents a classic parkland layout marked by mature hardwoods and subtly contoured greens. The course rewards strategic play rather than raw power, favoring players who can navigate doglegs and position themselves for approach shots on the correct side of the fairways.
Designed by Joe Lee, the 18 holes offer a classic, pre-renovation layout where tight lies and strategic bunkering penalize those who stray from the intended line. While the club hasn't hosted major championships on the scale of its peers, its prominence stems from a strong, local membership that values tradition and camaraderie. Recent enhancements have been made to bunkers and green complexes.
While Berkeley Hills may not command the same global recognition as some of the state's more celebrated venues, it enjoys a solid reputation within the Atlanta golfing community. It serves as a consistent and well-regarded test for players of all skill levels.
