Goldstrand, a regional architect active primarily in Minnesota and neighboring states during the latter decades of the twentieth century, designed courses that typically work with natural land forms rather than impose dramatic earthwork. Pine reflects this approach, routing through modest elevation changes and incorporating the native vegetation as both strategic and aesthetic elements. The nine holes offer variety in length and shot requirements, with doglegs shaped by tree lines and greens that take advantage of the property's natural contours.
