Pine at Grey Oaks, carved into the lush landscape of North Naples, represents the club's oldest test of golf, a testament to thoughtful routing on gently rolling terrain. This classically-styled course eschews trickery for strategic challenge, demanding a diverse skillset from tee to green. It favors players who can shape shots and manage their way around doglegs that reward thoughtful positioning, and its generous fairways tighten as you approach the putting surfaces.
Designed by Clifton, Ezell, and Clifton, Pine’s legacy lies not in hosting televised championships, but in fostering a competitive spirit amongst its discerning membership. Here, a premium is placed on camaraderie alongside the game, where post-round debates over putts made or lost often spill out onto the terrace.
The lore of Pine is less about heroic shots and more about the subtle nuances of course management, or the friendly rivalries fostered within the Grey Oaks community. It is a place where a well-struck approach to a tucked pin is celebrated as much as a booming drive, and the enduring appeal lies in its balanced challenge and commitment to the core values of the game.
Reviews
The Pines is my favorite of the 3 Grey Oaks courses. Doesn’t feel forced. Plays somewhat easy but why not enjoy yourself a little.
