PINCH BROOK GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Florham Park, NJ, USA
Designed by Keith Evans, Rees Jones
Pinch Brook Golf Course occupies rolling terrain in Florham Park, New Jersey, a suburban community in Morris County approximately thirty miles west of New York City. The course was designed by Rees Jones with Keith Evans and reflects the naturalistic design principles Jones has applied throughout his career, working with the property's existing topography and wooded corridors rather than imposing dramatic earthwork. The layout takes advantage of elevation changes and mature tree lines that define playing corridors and frame strategic decisions from the tee.
The routing moves through varied terrain characteristic of northern New Jersey's glacially influenced landscape, with holes playing across moderate slopes and around natural drainage features. Water comes into play on several holes, and the design incorporates both risk-reward opportunities and strategic options that accommodate different skill levels. Bunkering follows traditional placement patterns, guarding landing zones and greenside approaches without excessive visual intimidation.
As a public facility in the densely populated New York metropolitan region, Pinch Brook serves a broad range of golfers seeking accessible daily-fee golf in a parkland setting. The course provides a straightforward test of golf that emphasizes accuracy and course management over length, fitting the constraints and character of its suburban location. The property's mature landscaping and established tree cover give the course a settled appearance despite its relatively modern design pedigree.
Reviews
Walk, the cart fee is ridiculous. Very easy par 65 course. Easy walk, easy play. Not the best shape of any course but it’s fine for a quick 18. Bunkers are weak and greens aren’t very fast. Pro shop and staff leave a lot to be desired. Good for locals, don’t travel more than 20 mins for it.
State of New Jersey pond was really dope, mad chill randoms except for one, next time go to a public track and play with three randoms. The great roll of the dice in life.
