Peterstone Lakes Golf Club

Peterstone Lakes Golf Club sits on reclaimed marshland near the Severn Estuary in Wentloog, just east of Cardiff. Designed by Robert Sandow and opened in the mid-1990s, the course occupies flat terrain characteristic of the coastal levels, with water features integrated throughout the layout as both strategic elements and drainage solutions for the low-lying land. The setting provides open views across the surrounding countryside toward the Bristol Channel. The routing makes extensive use of the site's lakes and wetland areas, which come into play on numerous holes and create habitat for waterfowl and other wildlife. The flat topography means wind often influences play, particularly on exposed holes. Sandow's design incorporates these natural conditions into the strategic demands, with water hazards requiring careful course management and prevailing breezes affecting club selection and shot shaping.
