PERDIDO BAY GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Pensacola, FL, USA
Designed by Bill Amick, Bill Bergin

Perdido Bay Golf Club sits along the northern shore of Perdido Bay in Pensacola, Florida, where the coastal landscape meets the Gulf Coast's characteristic pine and palmetto terrain. The course was designed by Bill Amick and Bill Bergin, architects who worked primarily in the southeastern United States during the latter decades of the twentieth century. The layout takes advantage of the property's natural water features and relatively flat topography common to this part of the Florida Panhandle.
The routing incorporates views of Perdido Bay itself on several holes, with water hazards—both natural and constructed—playing a significant role throughout the round. The design reflects the era's approach to resort and residential golf in coastal Florida, balancing playability for a range of skill levels with strategic interest created by water carries and well-placed bunkers. The course serves both members and resort guests, fitting into the broader development of golf amenities along the Gulf Coast corridor that stretches from Pensacola through the beaches to the east.
The club operates in a region known for year-round golf, benefiting from mild winters and the draw of beach tourism. Perdido Bay represents the style of golf course development that accompanied residential and vacation growth in coastal northwest Florida, offering a layout shaped by the constraints and opportunities of low-lying, water-rich terrain near the Gulf of Mexico.
Reviews
Course is always in good condition considering it’s public. It’s the best bang for the buck golf around coastal Alabama/Florida.
This is one of those course where you go...they held an actual PGA Tour event here in the 80s? It just doesn't seem like a PGA tournament type of course. It probably has seen much better days than when played here a few years back. Not sure I personally would come back with better options in the area. Price is best part of the course but also attracted a more young spring break crowd.
