Pecan at Grapevine Golf Club

Grapevine Golf Club's Pecan Course represents a collaboration between Texas golf legend Byron Nelson and accomplished course architect Joe Finger, bringing together competitive insight and design expertise. The course sits in Grapevine, a city positioned between Dallas and Fort Worth in the northern reaches of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, where residential development and golf facilities have expanded significantly since the mid-twentieth century.

The Pecan Course takes its name from the native trees common to North Texas riparian areas and reflects the region's characteristic terrain—gently rolling land with intermittent creek corridors and stands of mature hardwoods. The routing works with this topography to create variety in hole character, incorporating elevation changes modest by Texas standards but sufficient to add strategic interest. Water features appear on several holes, typical of courses built during the era when Nelson and Finger were active, providing both visual definition and tactical challenge.

Byron Nelson's involvement in course design came after his competitive career, during which he won multiple major championships and established himself as one of golf's most respected figures. Joe Finger, who practiced architecture primarily in Texas and the Southwest, designed or renovated dozens of courses across the region.
