PATRIOTS POINT GOLF LINKS
🇺🇸 Mt. Pleasant, SC, USA
Designed by Willard Byrd

Patriots Point, rising from the marshy fringes of Mount Pleasant, is forever linked to Charleston's maritime history. Designed by Willard Byrd in 1979, it embraces the Lowcountry landscape with open, wind-swept fairways and strategically placed water hazards. This is not a course of dramatic elevation changes, but rather one that tests a player's ability to manage the coastal breezes and negotiate subtle breaks on the undulating greens. It favors those who can control their ball flight and shape shots, especially on the inward nine where the Cooper River bares its teeth.
While never hosting a major professional event, Patriots Point has a devoted following among local golfers and visitors seeking an accessible, enjoyable round of golf with stunning views of the Charleston skyline and Fort Sumter. Its charm lies in its unpretentious nature; a place where camaraderie flourishes amongst everyday players, not the pressure of tournament golf. The club does not strive for national recognition but embraces its role as a staple of the Charleston golf community.
The spirit of Patriots Point is reflected in its unpretentious atmosphere. You are just as likely to overhear a lively debate about the merits of Carolina BBQ as you are to hear tips on navigating the par-3 17th. It is a place where the love of the game trumps pretense, and the sunset views are as satisfying as a well-struck drive.
Reviews
Don’t waste money playing here. Go hit balls and get a beer and stare off at 18 to enjoy the water view if you feel like doing some type of golf activity and you are visiting charleston. If they ever figure out how to renovate this place has the opportunity to be a top tier golf destination just minutes from the best city for tourism in the country.
I really only ever go here for walking twilight rounds and at that point in the day the pace is usually great, never waiting even as a solo. And price is more palatable then too. Greens are coming back from earlier in the year, still not great. Layout is pretty interesting for a dead flat piece of land 15-18 are all really cool holes, front 9 is very bland.
This course is ok when they have the greens. Been totally unplayable for ~6 months now. Horrible value regardless
Almost none of the holes had anything resembling a green and they still have audacity to charge over $100 for a round
