The Outeniqua course at Fancourt Hotel & Country Club in George, Western Cape, sits in the Garden Route region of South Africa and was designed by Gary Player. It serves as one of three championship courses at the resort property, alongside The Links and Montagu. The course takes its name from the Outeniqua Mountains that form a dramatic backdrop to the north, while the layout itself occupies relatively level terrain characteristic of the coastal plain between the mountains and the Indian Ocean.

Player's design incorporates water features throughout the routing, with several holes playing alongside or across lakes and streams that come into play on approach shots and around greens. The course features parkland characteristics with tree-lined fairways and generous landing areas, though water hazards and strategically positioned bunkers require careful course management. The conditioning typically reflects the resort's emphasis on presentation and playability for guests traveling from various regions.

Fancourt developed as a golf destination in the 1990s and has hosted professional tournaments on the European and Sunshine Tours. The property includes accommodation, dining facilities, and practice areas that serve an international clientele. The Outeniqua course generally plays as the most accessible of Fancourt's three layouts, offering a contrast to the links-style challenge of The Links course, which gained prominence through tournament play.
