THE CLUB AT OSPREY COVE GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 St. Marys, GA, USA
Designed by Mark McCumber

The Club at Osprey Cove occupies a coastal Georgia setting near St. Marys, positioned along the Intracoastal Waterway in the state's southeastern corner. Mark McCumber, a PGA Tour player who transitioned to course design, completed the layout in 1988. The property features natural lowcountry terrain with marshland views, tidal creeks, and mature live oaks draped in Spanish moss, characteristic of the region's maritime forest environment.
McCumber's routing takes advantage of the waterfront location, with several holes playing alongside or over marsh areas. The course incorporates the natural elevation changes found in coastal Georgia, modest by most standards but significant for the region, and uses the existing vegetation to frame holes and define playing corridors. Water hazards, both tidal and constructed, appear throughout the round and require strategic consideration on approach shots and tee balls.
The course serves a residential community and operates as a semi-private facility, offering access to members and outside play. The layout measures over 6,700 yards from the back tees and presents a test suited to a range of skill levels through multiple tee options. The closing stretch includes holes that return toward the clubhouse with marsh views, providing a distinctive coastal Georgia golf experience that reflects both the natural landscape and McCumber's design approach during the late 1980s.
