FLAT CREEK COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Peachtree City, GA, USA
Designed by Joe Lee

Flat Creek Country Club's Old Mill/Graveyard combination represents eighteen holes from the club's original 27-hole layout designed by Joe Lee and opened in 1981. The course occupies rolling terrain characteristic of Georgia's Piedmont region, roughly thirty miles south of Atlanta in the planned community of Peachtree City. Lee, who built his reputation working alongside Dick Wilson before establishing an independent practice focused primarily in Florida and the Southeast, routed the holes through mature pine and hardwood corridors with moderate elevation changes and several water features that come into play throughout the round.
The Old Mill nine takes its name from historical remnants on the property, while the Graveyard nine references a small family cemetery preserved within the routing—a common feature in courses built on former agricultural land in this part of Georgia. The layout incorporates the natural topography without excessive earthmoving, typical of Lee's approach during this period. Greens are moderately contoured, and the bunkering follows conventional strategic principles of the era, guarding landing areas and green entrances without excessive visual intimidation.
Flat Creek serves as a traditional member-owned country club for the Peachtree City community, which developed around an extensive golf cart path system that connects residential neighborhoods to various amenities. The club maintains the course for regular member play and hosts regional amateur competitions. The third nine, known as the Highlands, can be combined with either the Old Mill or Graveyard to create alternate eighteen-hole configurations.
