THE TRIBUTE AT THE COLONY
🇺🇸 The Colony, TX, USA
Designed by Tripp Davis

The Tribute at The Colony isn't merely inspired by Scotland; it strives to *be* Scotland, transplanted to the Texas prairie. A bold homage, this course evokes the spirit of the Home of Golf more than faithfully replicating specific holes.
Built on the rolling terrain north of Dallas, the course reflects a modern interpretation of links architecture. Wide fairways initially lull golfers into a false sense of security, quickly dispelled by strategic bunkering and ever-present wind. The challenge lies not in brute length, but in managing trajectory and spin across the undulating landscape. Expect to favor fades and blind shots, as the course forces you to strategize and take chances to succeed on The Tribute.
Designed by Tripp Davis and Justin Leonard, The Tribute is not a course steeped in championship history, but is rather built upon the camaraderie of its membership. A welcoming club for those with a passion for the game and a desire to experience a unique interpretation of links golf, The Tribute provides a challenging and enjoyable round in a setting unlike any other in the region.
Reviews
Really fun course with some cool replica holes.
Course was in excellent condition when I played. The service in the proshop, restaurant, and on-course was super friendly. You can certainly ignore the 'tribute' part of this course with the holes being reproductions and just enjoy a solid course, or you can lean into that as a fun quirk.
