BROKEN SOUND COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Boca Raton, FL, USA
Designed by Joe Lee

Broken Sound's "Old" course is Boca Raton's well-heeled iteration of South Florida golf – a reminder that championship aspirations don't always preclude a good time. Built amidst the planned community's manicured landscape, the course evokes a certain early-80s Florida resort feel, but with a design that subtly favors strategic shot-making over brute force, and lush and well tended fairways.
Originally crafted by Joe Lee, with subsequent enhancements by Gene Bates, the "Old" course presents players with generous fairways and subtly contoured greens that reward calculated approaches. The course winds its way through a residential landscape, but the design cleverly uses water features and strategically placed bunkers to maintain a sense of secluded play. The course offers a more social than strategic tone, offering a relaxed atmosphere within the confines of a well-regarded club.
Broken Sound enjoys a reputation for its robust membership and vibrant social scene, and the "Old" course is at the heart of it all. The club is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and camaraderie, and the club’s robust social calendar, which includes everything from themed golf events to upscale dining experiences, reinforces its standing as a premier destination for those seeking a golf-centered lifestyle.
Reviews
Played here for a Pro Am. Really didn’t have any memorable holes. Course was in great shape and service was fantastic (as to be expected) but the course itself wasn’t anything too special. Felt like pretty typical Florida golf
