Accuracy and a deft short game are rewarded here, as the course subtly favors those who can manage the ever-present coastal breezes. Originally designed by a largely forgotten golden age architect, it saw subtle but key course enhancements at the hands of Rees Jones, who subtly lengthened some holes, tweaked bunker placements, and brought the course up to modern play and conditioning standards. While it has not played host to any major championships, Ocean Course has been the site of countless member-guest events and club championships, all fiercely contested.
