TPC SAN ANTONIO
πΊπΈ San Antonio, TX, USA
Designed by Greg Norman
The Oaks course at TPC San Antonio, carved into the rugged Texas Hill Country, annually challenges the world's best at the Valero Texas Open. Designed by Greg Norman with player consultant Sergio Garcia, the course presents a distinctly modern test characterized by strategic bunkering and undulating greens demanding creativity around the putting surfaces.
Built amidst native oak trees and rolling terrain, the course favors players who can manage the natural slopes and wind, with a premium placed on precise iron play into the greens. While not particularly steeped in historical significance outside of its annual PGA Tour event, The Oaks provides a stern examination of shot-making under pressure for professionals and amateurs alike.
The TPC San Antonio is a robust membership with a friendly golfing atmosphere. A hearty post-round tradition revolves around classic Tex-Mex cuisine. The clubhouse regularly buzzes with members recounting tales of near misses and clutch putts on the demanding closing holes.
Reviews
Really an incredibly maintained course. Always in really great shape. Greens are quick and can be firm depending on when you catch them. The layout or design isnβt really anything to write home about. Some cool holes that you see on TV are much tougher than you realize watching the pros. Fun track to play if you get the chance.
