Oaks Course
Raleigh, NC, USA

North Ridge Country Club's Oaks Course is located in Raleigh, North Carolina, and was designed by Gene Hamm and John LaFoy. The course serves as part of a private club facility in the state capital region, an area that has seen steady growth in golf course development since the mid-twentieth century. The design reflects the rolling Piedmont topography characteristic of the Raleigh area, where courses typically work with moderate elevation changes and mature tree cover. Gene Hamm, a North Carolina-based architect, collaborated with John LaFoy on several projects in the region during their careers. Their work generally emphasizes playability for a range of skill levels while incorporating the natural features of Carolina landscapes. The Oaks Course likely takes its name from the hardwood trees common to the property, which frame fairways and define playing corridors throughout the routing. As a private club course in Raleigh, North Ridge serves a membership drawn from the city's professional and business communities. The facility provides a traditional country club experience with golf as a central amenity. The Oaks Course functions as the primary championship layout for member play and club competitions, offering a test suited to regular play rather than tournament spectacle. The design prioritizes member enjoyment and course conditioning appropriate to the climate and growing season of central North Carolina.
Medium level course
A very nice club overall. Both courses are solid. The Oaks seems to be a slightly better course and walk than the Lakes. Perfect conditions
Love the Oaks, my favorite of the 2 courses at this great club.
