OAK MEADOW GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Evansville, IN, USA
Designed by Dick Nugent, Ken Killian

Oak Meadow, a fixture of Evansville golf since its inception, provides a classic Midwestern golfing experience, reflecting the area's understated charm. The course presents a parkland style layout, with gently rolling terrain that subtly favors a right-to-left ball flight. Wide fairways encourage aggressive play off the tee, yet the course’s defense lies in its well-guarded greens and strategically placed bunkers. The closing stretch, often playing into the prevailing wind, demands both length and precision.
Designed by Bill Diddel, Oak Meadow has remained largely true to its original early-mid century vision, though subtle enhancements to bunkering and green complexes have been made over the years. While it has not hosted any national championships, Oak Meadow holds a revered position in the local golf community as a regular site for the Evansville Men's City Tournament, a proving ground for generations of area golfers.
Oak Meadow is primarily known locally, but that is more than enough, it is known among those who frequent it as one of the better kept secrets in the area. The club boasts a strong and loyal membership, many of whom have been playing Oak Meadow for decades, drawn by the course’s playability and the welcoming atmosphere. Post-round, the clubhouse is a popular spot for golfers to gather, with their famous pork tenderloin sandwich being a particular favorite, becoming as much of a tradition as the golf itself.
