The North Course at Apogee Club, carved into the landscape of Indiantown, Florida, owes its existence to a visionary, not a committee. It’s a course said to have been sketched on a napkin over a late-night poker game, the winning hand securing the financing. This genesis gives the course a certain outlaw charm - a feeling of being outside the established order. The layout, a product of the early 2000s Modern movement, sprawls across a former citrus grove, the sandy soil providing excellent drainage and allowing for firm, fast conditions. While not a links course, the closely mown approaches and strategically placed bunkers reward a ground game, while the generous fairways subtly favor a draw off the tee.
