CHEROKEE TOWN & COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Atlanta, GA, USA
Designed by Joe Lee

Cherokee Town & Country Club's North Course, a stalwart of Sandy Springs, whispers tales of Atlanta's burgeoning elite finding recreation amidst rolling Georgia clay. Originally sculpted during the mid-20th century, its parkland layout unfolds with mature hardwoods framing generous fairways. While length isn't the course's defining attribute, subtle doglegs and thoughtfully placed bunkers reward strategic play more than brute power. The course is fair and demands patience and a precise iron game.
Joe Lee, known for his work across the Southeast, put his stamp on the North Course. Subsequent refinements have kept pace with evolving equipment, maintaining the course's playability for members of all skill levels. It is not widely considered one of the Southeast's elite courses, but a solid and fair challenge.
The North Course’s reputation within Atlanta’s discerning golfing community is well regarded. The club itself is known for its steadfast membership, drawn from the city's business and social echelons. You will see captains of industry, local celebrities and Atlanta mainstays on the course.
