NORBECK COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Rockville, MD, USA
Designed by Alfred H. Tull

Nestled in the rolling hills of Rockville, Norbeck Country Club stands as a testament to classic, mid-century American golf course design. Its traditional parkland layout, shaped by the skilled hand of Ferdinand Garbin, winds through mature trees and gently undulating terrain, demanding strategic shot-making over sheer length.
Garbin's design aesthetic favored a course that tested a player's ability to navigate doglegs and manage approaches to subtly contoured greens. Although Norbeck has not hosted events on any of the major tours, the course has hosted its share of regional competitions. The fairways, lined with stately hardwoods, require thoughtful club selection and the ability to shape shots both ways.
A welcoming club with a reputation for its strong member camaraderie, Norbeck's membership skews toward accomplished players who appreciate a classic golfing experience. While not prominently featured on any national lists, it remains a respected test of golf in the Maryland suburbs.
