TRUMP NATIONAL GOLF CLUB AT BEDMINSTER
🇺🇸 Bedminster, NJ, USA
Designed by Tom Fazio II
Trump National Golf Club at Bedminster features a course designed by Tom Fazio II that opened in the early 2000s on a substantial property in the Somerset Hills of northern New Jersey. The layout occupies rolling terrain with significant elevation changes, routing through mature hardwood forests and open meadowland that provides views across the surrounding countryside. The property's natural topography, characteristic of this part of New Jersey's Piedmont region, allows for dramatic downhill and uphill holes that take advantage of the site's natural movement.
The course reflects Fazio design principles with generous fairway corridors, strategic bunkering, and large, contoured greens that demand precision on approach shots. Water features come into play on several holes, and the routing makes use of the property's varied elevations to create memorable risk-reward scenarios. The layout stretches to a championship length from the back tees, though multiple tee boxes accommodate different skill levels.
The club has hosted significant competitive golf, including the U.S. Women's Open on multiple occasions, which brought national attention to the course and tested professional players on its demanding layout. The property also includes a second eighteen-hole course. The club operates as a private facility with amenities that include a substantial clubhouse positioned to overlook the courses and surrounding landscape. The Bedminster location places it within an hour's drive of New York City, situating it among the concentration of private clubs in northern New Jersey's affluent suburban corridor.
Reviews
More difficult than it is fun
A really cool modern golf course that is always kept it good shape. Can play really long from back tees. Very hard to walk due to the layout being around the Old.
Was fun to play but not memorable in terms of great golf holes, maybe 16 & 18, but thats about it.
I think the new holds up well to the old, it’s just a different type of layout.
