NEMACOLIN COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Beallsville, PA, USA
Designed by Emil Loeffler, John McGlynn
Nemacolin Country Club, cradled in the rolling hills of Beallsville, Pennsylvania, whispers a tale of enduring tradition, though its layout has never sought the grandest stage. Originally conceived in the mid-20th century, the parkland-style course meanders through mature hardwoods, favoring a strategic approach over brute strength.
The course, while perhaps not nationally acclaimed, presents a fair test with subtly undulating greens and well-placed bunkers that can easily penalize the errant shot. Long and winding, there are only a few blind shots at Nemacolin but the course still demands accurate club selection, especially into the greens.
While tournaments may not define Nemacolin, it’s the camaraderie among members that shapes its identity. Nemacolin Country Club, though not one of the area’s great courses, is a great gathering place and hub of area golf. And it's always accessible for a casual round and convivial atmosphere.
Reviews
A.W doing what he does best. Delicious routing with classic Tilly green complexes. A shortish par 70 the par 5s are a blast and the par 3s are stout. A fairly open layout sits on a classic western Pa piece of land. Very hilly, lots of fairway contouring, and excellent green complexes. The greens are firm and fast and the breaks are anything but subtle. In true Tilly fashion the course is engaging and forces you to think on just about every shot. Being a member here would never get old.
