My Old Kentucky Home Course
Bardstown, KY, USA

My Old Kentucky Home is a public golf course located in Bardstown, Kentucky, a historic town in the central part of the state known for its bourbon distilleries and antebellum architecture. The course takes its name from the nearby My Old Kentucky Home State Park, which preserves Federal Hill, the mansion that inspired Stephen Foster's famous song. The facility serves the local community and visitors to the Bardstown area, providing accessible golf in a region where public course options can be limited outside of Louisville. The course plays through rolling Kentucky terrain characteristic of the Bluegrass region's outer edges, where the landscape begins transitioning toward the knobs and more varied topography of central Kentucky. Tree-lined fairways and elevation changes are typical features of courses in this area, and the routing likely incorporates natural land movement rather than extensive earthwork. As a municipal or daily-fee facility, the course emphasizes playability for a range of skill levels while maintaining the traditional parkland character common to Kentucky golf. Bardstown's location along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail brings a steady flow of tourists to the area, and the course provides a recreational option for visitors exploring the region's distilleries and historic sites. The town itself maintains a strong sense of local tradition, and the golf course functions as both a community gathering place and an amenity for the area's tourism economy. The facility operates within the context of small-town Kentucky golf, where courses serve practical recreational needs rather than destination play.
Super short track, and played pretty soggy. Overall conditions were average but the undulating greens were in amazing shape. Fun layout that offers a lot of scoring opportunities if you can keep it out of the trees. Played with Sigey and Ethan. Sigey knocked it to a foot and a half on 16 and missed the putt 😂
