MOUNT PLEASANT GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Baltimore, MD, USA
Designed by Bill Love

Baltimore's Mount Pleasant Golf Course, sculpted into the rolling hills of the city's northern reaches, holds the distinction of being one of the nation's oldest municipal layouts. Born in the Golden Age of course design, its original architect, Thomas Bendelow, routed a classic parkland course through mature hardwoods and over subtly undulating terrain, a testament to enduring playability and challenging for any golfer. It is a course that favors those who can work the ball right to left, with doglegs aplenty, demanding intelligent shot placement over sheer power.
Later refined by the legendary Ed Ault, Mount Pleasant honors its past with modern touches. While not a championship venue, the course has been a long time host to the Baltimore Open and is a constant test of golfing abilities for all players. The Ault design did just enough to modernize the course without removing the old course charm and playability.
Beyond the course itself, Mount Pleasant boasts a fiercely loyal membership, many of whom have been playing the grounds for decades. The camaraderie in the clubhouse is often as strong as the competition on the fairways, rooted in a shared appreciation for the game and the community it fosters. It remains a beloved hub for Baltimore golf, and a tribute to the charm of a walkable urban course.
