MIRA VISTA GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Fort Worth, TX, USA
Designed by Jay Morrish, Tom Weiskopf

Mira Vista Golf Club opened in 1991 on rolling terrain in west Fort Worth, designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish during their collaborative period. The course occupies land with significant elevation change for the region, allowing the architects to create a routing that moves through varied topography with natural drainage corridors and limestone outcroppings characteristic of north-central Texas. The design emphasizes strategic options from the tee and approach play into greens that feature substantial contouring and falloffs.
The layout incorporates native grasses and mature trees, primarily oak and mesquite, that frame holes without creating narrow corridors. Water features appear on several holes, integrated into the natural drainage patterns rather than imposed artificially. The bunkering style reflects the Weiskopf-Morrish aesthetic of the era, with sculpted edges and strategic placement that rewards precise shot-making. Greens are typically elevated or partially raised, requiring players to account for both distance control and ground contours around the putting surfaces.
Mira Vista operates as a private club and serves an established membership in the Fort Worth area. The facility includes practice areas and a clubhouse that overlooks the course. The design has remained largely intact since opening, maintaining the original routing and strategic character intended by its architects. The course represents the collaborative work of Weiskopf and Morrish during a period when they completed several notable projects across the United States.
Reviews
Really enjoyable course, excellent conditioning, and even on a weekend we barely saw other groups. The service and clubhouse were great too.
Tough course to walk. Good conditions and some elevation change make this a fun course.
