MILL CREEK GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Mebane, NC, USA
Designed by Brian Lussier, Gary Koch, Rick Robbins
Mill Creek Golf Club sits in Mebane, a small town in the Piedmont region of North Carolina between Greensboro and Durham. The course was designed by Rick Robbins and Brian Lussier, with input from Gary Koch, a former PGA Tour player who transitioned to course design and golf broadcasting. The design team shaped the layout across rolling Piedmont terrain, working with the natural contours and wooded corridors typical of central North Carolina golf courses.
The routing takes advantage of elevation changes and mature tree lines that define playing corridors and frame individual holes. Mill Creek's design reflects the collaborative approach of its architects, balancing strategic interest with playability for a range of skill levels. The course features water hazards and bunker complexes positioned to reward accurate shot-making while offering recovery options for less precise play.
As a semi-private facility, Mill Creek serves both members and daily-fee players, functioning as a community golf hub in the Mebane area. The club provides standard amenities including practice facilities and a clubhouse with dining services. The course operates within the broader context of North Carolina's robust golf market, offering a regional option that emphasizes accessibility and conditioning over championship pedigree. The design work by Robbins, Lussier, and Koch represents their effort to create a course suited to the local landscape and golfing community.
Reviews
Very nice layout that largely plays through the woods. Very few houses on it. A lot of variety in the holes, with the standouts being 2, 3, 9, 11, 12, 15, and 18. Great value.
