MEDINA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Medina, MN, USA
Designed by Charles Maddox

Medina Golf & Country Club sits in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, in the town of Medina, Minnesota. The course was designed by Charles Maddox, a regional architect active in the upper Midwest during the mid-twentieth century. Maddox's work in Minnesota and neighboring states typically emphasized strategic routing over rolling terrain, incorporating the natural landforms and native vegetation characteristic of the region.
The Medina course occupies land that reflects the glacially shaped topography common to the area, with gentle elevation changes and mature tree corridors framing many holes. The layout moves through a mix of open and wooded sections, requiring players to navigate varied conditions and shot shapes. Water features appear on several holes, adding both visual interest and strategic considerations to club selection and course management.
Medina Golf & Country Club has served as a private facility for several decades, hosting member competitions and regional amateur events. The club maintains a traditional country club atmosphere, with a membership drawn largely from the surrounding western Twin Cities communities. The clubhouse and grounds reflect a focus on family-oriented activities alongside golf, typical of established suburban clubs in the Minneapolis area. The course provides a solid test for members familiar with its nuances while remaining accessible to a range of skill levels.
Reviews
I grew up here and have fond memories so I do have some bias as this is one of the worst privates in the state. The one big thing they have (or did) though is some of the best junior programming in the state. A bad course but a good membership for families.
