FOX HOLLOW GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Lakewood, CO, USA
Designed by Denis Griffiths

Fox Hollow, carved into the rolling foothills west of Denver, presents a stark contrast: a tale of two nines where prairie grasses meet demanding water hazards. Designed in the late 1970s, the original Meadow course offers a more forgiving, links-style experience, rewarding strategic play across its wide fairways. By contrast, the Links nine, added later, tightens considerably, testing players with strategically placed lakes and challenging approach shots, demanding accurate iron play.
While the course is not on any global circuit, it’s known locally for the challenging nature of the back nine, which requires golfers to navigate water hazards and undulating greens, and those who master this side see their handicaps rewarded. Although the architect is not nationally renowned, the layout has proven popular with Denver area golfers, attracting a diverse membership that appreciates a well-maintained public course offering a stern test.
Beyond the fairways, Fox Hollow fosters a convivial atmosphere, particularly noted for its vibrant men's and women's club scenes. The clubhouse buzzes with post-round chatter, often centered around the latest hole-in-one or near miss. Perhaps more importantly, Fox Hollow offers some of the most remarkable views of the Rocky Mountains that can be found anywhere in the region.
