NESHANIC VALLEY GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Neshanic Station, NJ, USA
Designed by Dana Fry, Dr. Michael Hurdzan

Neshanic Valley Golf Course operates as a public facility in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, featuring 36 holes designed by Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry. The property opened in 1999 and offers two 18-hole layouts—Meadow and Lake—that wind through rolling farmland characteristic of the region's rural landscape. The courses were developed on former agricultural land, and the design takes advantage of natural elevation changes and open terrain typical of central New Jersey's countryside.
The Meadow and Lake nines can be combined in various 18-hole configurations, providing variety for regular players. Hurdzan and Fry, who collaborated on numerous public and resort courses during the 1990s and 2000s, incorporated strategic bunkering and water features into relatively open layouts. The Lake nine includes several holes where ponds and wetlands come into play, while the Meadow routing moves across more expansive terrain with wider fairway corridors.
As a county-owned facility, Neshanic Valley serves a broad range of golfers and maintains a straightforward public-access model. The course sits within a largely agricultural area west of Route 206, offering views across farmland and wooded ridges. The design emphasizes playability for everyday golfers while providing enough length and challenge from the back tees to accommodate stronger players. The facility includes practice areas and a clubhouse with basic amenities typical of municipal operations in the region.
Reviews
Neshanic is awesome. Facility is very impressive between the range and the clubhouse. Course was in decent shape, still played firm despite it being in the middle of a hot rainy spring/early summer. Greens were a bit slow but the layout is good enough to overcome rather uninteresting greens. Really fun risk reward shots and some cool views with the lack of trees. Hidden gem.
