MAUMEE BAY GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Oregon, OH, USA
Designed by Arthur Hills

Maumee Bay Golf Course offers a unique test sculpted alongside the Lake Erie shoreline, where challenging golf meets the serene beauty of Ohio's marshlands. The course's most notable characteristic is its water features, playing into nearly every hole.
Designed by Arthur Hills in the early 1990s, the terrain is predominantly links-style, featuring undulating fairways and strategically placed bunkers that force thoughtful club selection. The course demands accurate approach shots, not length, rewarding players who can navigate the prevailing winds and understand the subtle breaks on the greens. It’s a democratic course.
While not a major championship venue, Maumee Bay has hosted numerous state and regional tournaments, solidifying its place as a competitive yet accessible course within the Midwest. The course is known for its friendly atmosphere and accessible play, fostering a strong local following, and also benefits from a state park location with nature and wildlife viewing opportunities.
Reviews
If you want a fun, challenging, and windy round of golf, I have the place for you. I have played Maumee Bay at least 7+ times and every time I’ve played it the wind has been atleast a 1 or 2 club wind. Maumee Bay has some incredibly placed bunkers and water all over the course. Feels like the hole and win always bring the water into play. Maumee Bay has some holes that really make you think about your drives. Even if the fairway is wide open it is very important to have your drive end up on the correct side. If you miss your drives in the wrong place you are in for a long day. I also love that you can really play the ball low at maumee bay and play the ball completely on the ground some holes. I think it creates some fun links style shots. While maumee bay isn’t a course I would want to play every day, I think it is a challenging course that is fun to play a few times a year.
