MAPLE CITY COUNTRY CLUB
🇨🇦 Chatham, Ontario, CA
Designed by C. E. "Robbie" Robinson

Maple City Country Club, a fixture along the River Line near Chatham, is where generations have learned the game, their swings echoing against the backdrop of the Thames River valley. Its unassuming presence belies a deeply cherished local history.
Originally conceived in the late 1960s, the course reflects a design philosophy that emphasizes playability. The gently rolling terrain, characteristic of southwestern Ontario, presents few dramatic elevation changes but rewards strategic positioning. Its open fairways and mature tree lines offer a fair test, more inviting than daunting, and suited to a variety of skill levels. While its design does not boast any notable architectural signatures, the course is well known for its challenging par 3s.
Maple City is a club where the social fabric is as important as the golf itself. Its membership is known for their camaraderie. Every summer they host a "Lobsterfest" celebration, a tradition nearly as old as the course itself.
