NORTHWEST GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Silver Spring, MD, USA
Designed by Ed Ault

Northwest Golf Course, a Montgomery County mainstay, presents a classic, no-frills golfing experience, cherished by generations of local players. Carved into the gently rolling parkland terrain just north of the Capital Beltway, this course, while not demanding excessive length, tests a player's ability to navigate subtle doglegs and strategically placed bunkers.
Originally laid out in the mid-20th century, Northwest Golf Course favors accuracy and course management over sheer power. The layout features relatively narrow fairways lined with mature trees, placing a premium on thoughtful tee shots and precise iron play. The greens, while not overly undulating, often present subtle breaks that require a keen eye.
While Northwest Golf Course may not be a household name on a national stage, its enduring appeal lies in its accessibility and unpretentious atmosphere. The club is known locally as a welcoming environment for golfers of all skill levels, fostering a sense of community among its regulars. The no-frills clubhouse is a popular gathering spot where golfers often reflect on their rounds and enjoy simple fare, cementing the course's status as a true community asset.
Reviews
The crew has done an amazing job keeping this county course in tip top shape through a brutal summer with multiple floods They just completely sodded the fourth fairway to help with some of the flooding and it’s in great shape. The greens remained great throughout the season and you can tell a lot of care and passion is going into the course
