LUNDIN GOLF CLUB
🏴 Lundin Links, Fife, Scotland
Designed by James Braid, Tom Morris

Lundin Golf Club sits along the Firth of Forth in the East Neuk of Fife, part of the historic stretch of linksland that has supported golf since the game's earliest days. The course was originally laid out by Old Tom Morris in 1868, with significant revisions by James Braid in 1909 that established much of the routing golfers play today. The layout occupies classic Scottish links terrain, running along raised ground above the shoreline with views across the water to Edinburgh and the Lothian coast.
The course measures just over 6,300 yards from the back tees and features the characteristic elements of traditional links golf: rumpled fairways, deep pot bunkers, gorse, and greens that reward ground approaches. The opening holes move inland before the routing turns seaward, and several holes play directly along the coastal edge where the terrain becomes more dramatic. The par-three thirteenth, known as "Perfection," plays from an elevated tee to a green set against the beach and is frequently cited as one of the finest short holes in Fife.
Lundin has hosted regional qualifying for The Open Championship on multiple occasions, serving as one of the venues when the championship is held at nearby St Andrews or Carnoustie. The club maintains a traditional members' culture typical of Scottish golf clubs, with a welcoming atmosphere for visitors who appreciate straightforward links golf without excessive modern embellishment. The course remains relatively unchanged from Braid's design, preserving the strategic demands and natural character of early twentieth-century Scottish golf architecture.
Reviews
Lundin is an extremely underrated great links course in Fife. A great second round of the day if you play somewhere else in the morning. Some great views of the Firth of Forth. It is right next to Leven Links. The original course had 9 holes from each of the current courses. So at Lundin, you get the old school links feel but also a bit of a modern one with some of the newer holes. Holes 1-4 and 15-18 are apart of the old course. Hole 16 is the original Leven template hole, which has been copied dozens of times around the world. This course won’t win any awards, but it’s one of the most fun courses in Scotland.
