LOSANTIVILLE COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Cincinnati, OH, USA
Designed by Tom Bendelow

Losantiville Country Club exists on ground so historically intertwined with Cincinnati’s identity that its very name echoes the city’s original, albeit short-lived, moniker. This parkland layout, carved from the rolling hills of the city's eastern flank, presents a strategic test requiring both power and precise shot-making. The course plays longer than its yardage suggests with constant elevation changes and is known for its deceptively challenging greens.
Originally designed by Scotsman Tom Bendelow – whose work laid the foundation for many prestigious courses in the early 20th century – Losantiville has seen subtle refinements over the decades, most notably to improve drainage. The course favors a player who can shape shots and manage the undulating terrain and demands accuracy off the tee above all else. Losantiville offers just enough risk-reward and demands a full bag of clubs.
Though not a regular stop for professional championships, Losantiville remains a stalwart of the Cincinnati golf scene. Its membership, a mix of city professionals and long-standing families, holds tightly to its traditions and the legacy of a club deeply rooted in Cincinnati’s past. One quirk remains a member's only tourney named after Cincinnati’s founder, and the trophy features an actual skull of one of its original settlers.
