Los Naranjos at Los Naranjos Golf Club

Los Naranjos Golf Club sits in the Nueva Andalucía valley of Spain's Costa del Sol, part of the concentrated golf region west of Marbella known informally as the Golf Valley. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the course in 1977 during a period when he was creating several layouts along the Spanish Mediterranean coast. The property occupies relatively flat terrain with views toward the Sierra Blanca mountains and benefits from the mild climate that allows year-round play in this part of Andalucía.

The design reflects Jones's characteristic approach from this era: generous fairways bordered by mature trees, strategic bunkering, and water features that come into play on several holes. Orange groves originally occupied parts of the property, lending the club its name—"Los Naranjos" translates to "The Orange Trees." The routing incorporates lakes and streams that affect play on multiple holes, requiring golfers to make decisions about risk and carry distances, particularly on approach shots.

The course has hosted professional events on the European Tour and Ladies European Tour over the decades, establishing its credentials as a tournament-capable venue. The club maintains a membership base that includes both Spanish and international residents of the Costa del Sol, and the facilities reflect the resort-adjacent character common to this part of southern Spain. Los Naranjos remains one of the older established courses in the Nueva Andalucía area, predating much of the residential and golf development that followed in subsequent decades.
