LINDERO COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Agoura Hills, CA, USA
Designed by Ted Robinson
Lindero Country Club sits in the Santa Monica Mountains foothills of Agoura Hills, roughly thirty miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Designed by Ted Robinson and opened in the mid-1970s, the course occupies rolling terrain characteristic of Southern California's inland valleys, where oak-studded hillsides meet residential development. Robinson, known throughout California for courses that integrate water features and strategic bunkering into natural landscapes, routed Lindero to take advantage of elevation changes and native vegetation while accommodating the surrounding community.
The layout moves through varied topography, with several holes playing uphill or downhill across the property's natural contours. Water comes into play on multiple holes, a Robinson signature that adds both visual definition and strategic consequence to approach shots and drives. Mature trees frame many fairways, and bunkers are positioned to challenge both tee shots and approaches on the par fours and fives. The greens feature moderate undulation, typical of Robinson's work from this period.
Lindero operates as a private club serving the western San Fernando Valley and Conejo Valley communities. The membership includes local residents and families from Agoura Hills, Calabasas, and nearby areas. The club maintains traditional country club amenities including dining facilities and social programming alongside its golf operations. The course provides a parkland-style round in a region where mountain backdrops and oak woodlands define the visual character, offering members a layout that balances accessibility with enough strategic variety to reward course knowledge and thoughtful play.
