THE LINKS AT LIGHTHOUSE SOUND
🇺🇸 Bishopville, MD, USA
Designed by Arthur Hills

Lighthouse Sound, straddling the marshlands of Bishopville, Maryland, is a course where water dictates more than just hazard lines, it defines the experience. Carved into the coastal ecosystem, Arthur Hills designed this expansive, modern layout that embraces both the beauty and the strategic challenges of its bayside location.
The course itself is known for its generous fairways, which belie the cunning of the approach shots required to navigate the undulating greens guarded by ever-present breezes. Its length makes it a brute from the tips, but its playability remains accessible for golfers of all skill levels, although a draw is favored into the wind.
While Lighthouse Sound may not boast a history of hosting major championships, it has nonetheless become a favored destination for those seeking a challenging round amid the serenity of the coastal landscape. It is rumored that locals often come for the sunsets as much as they do for the golf, enjoying the panoramic views from the clubhouse porch, cocktail in hand, as another day fades over the Assawoman Bay.
Reviews
Definitely one of the best oublics I’ve played. Goregous on Ocean City vibes. Great links and clubhouse is elite. Good facilities.
Used to be one of the purest courses in OCMD, they have let it go a little because of how many tee times they allow. Still a beautiful track, but they need to offer less tee times to give the course time to breathe.
The best “beach” course in Ocean City. The par 3 recreating pebble beach’s was a nice touch. Best greens and maintenance in the area when I played.
