LASSING POINTE GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Union, KY, USA
Designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan
Lassing Pointe stands as a testament to Kentucky's evolving golf landscape, a public course challenging preconceived notions of accessibility and quality nestled in Union, KY. The relatively young course, opening in 1995, blends smoothly with the rolling Kentucky landscape.
Designed by Michael Hurdzan, Dana Frye, and E. Lawrence, the course favors a strategic approach rather than brute power. While generous fairways can be found, undulating greens and strategically placed bunkers demand thoughtful club selection and precise execution. Players will find themselves navigating doglegs that reward calculated risks and penalize overly aggressive plays.
Lassing Pointe has solidified itself as a strong Kentucky golf option - with the course hosting the Kentucky Open in 2005. While not a nationally recognized championship venue, its consistent course conditions and layout draw players from across the region.
Beyond the course itself, Lassing Pointe fosters a welcoming atmosphere for golfers of all skill levels. The club is known locally for its strong junior golf program and commitment to growing the game within the community.
Reviews
Lassing Pointe is a fun public track down in Kentucky that I always enjoy getting out to, but it definitely sees a ton of play — and you can tell. The layout has a few really fun holes mixed in with some that are just okay, so it’s a bit of a mixed bag overall. When it’s in good shape, it’s a great value round with some cool shot-making opportunities, but the conditions can be hit or miss. The bunkers the day we played were pretty rough and basically unplayable, which took away from the experience a bit. Still, it’s a solid public option with a friendly vibe and a few memorable holes that make it worth the trip every now and then
