The routing reflects the West Coast's relatively flat topography with gentle undulations, though the wind serves as a primary defense throughout the year. Player's design emphasizes strategic shot-making rather than dramatic elevation changes, with bunkering and green complexes that reward precision in the often-challenging coastal conditions. The course features indigenous fynbos vegetation typical of the Cape Floral Kingdom, and the layout offers views toward the lagoon and surrounding coastal landscape.
