WASATCH MOUNTAIN STATE PARK GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Midway, UT, USA
Designed by William Howard Neff
Lake Course at Wasatch Mountain State Park sits in the Heber Valley near Midway, Utah, roughly forty miles southeast of Salt Lake City. Designed by William Howard Neff and opened in 1967, the course occupies rolling terrain at the base of the Wasatch Range, with the surrounding peaks providing a dramatic alpine backdrop. The property is part of Utah's state park system, making it one of the more accessible mountain golf experiences in the region.
The routing takes advantage of the natural elevation changes and open meadow character of the valley floor. Mature cottonwoods and pines frame many holes, and several creeks meander through the layout, coming into play on approach shots and around greens. The course measures over 6,900 yards from the back tees, with enough length and strategic interest to challenge skilled players while remaining playable for visitors and resort guests staying in the Midway area.
Wasatch Mountain State Park operates both the Lake Course and the shorter Mountain Course on the same property. The facility serves a mix of local golfers from the Wasatch Front and seasonal visitors drawn to the Heber Valley for recreation. The setting offers a contrast to desert courses elsewhere in Utah, with cooler temperatures at elevation and a parkland feel shaped by mountain runoff and native vegetation. The course remains a fixture of public golf in the state and a centerpiece of the park's recreational offerings.
Reviews
Very enjoyable course, setting is peaceful and really impressive. Where else would you want to dew sweep? I think my main gripe is just with hole design, par 5s pretty much all take driver out of your hands. Still would play at any chance.
