LA QUINTA COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 La Quinta, CA, USA
Designed by Lawrence Hughes

La Quinta Country Club's history is inextricably linked to the rise of Palm Springs as a desert oasis, a playground for Hollywood royalty since its inception. The original course, a product of the mid-century modern era, unfolds across the valley floor; its largely flat, forgiving terrain a stark contrast to the rugged mountains looming in the distance. While visually appealing and welcoming, length is a necessity here.
Lawrence Hughes designed the original routing, later refined and modernized, particularly around the greens complexes. La Quinta has hosted events that brought both professional and amateur golfers to the Coachella Valley.
While not necessarily a national headliner, La Quinta boasts a deeply loyal membership drawn to its unpretentious atmosphere and focus on social camaraderie. The club maintains its historic charm. Many members enjoy a casual, laid-back experience that reflects a bygone era of golf, where course accessibility, not just championship rigor, takes precedence. Known for its excellent service, La Quinta is a true member's club through and through.
