LA JOLLA COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 La Jolla, CA, USA
Designed by Phil Mickelson, Rees Jones, William Francis Bell, Willie Watson

La Jolla Country Club, perched on the dramatic bluffs overlooking the Pacific, is where Southern California golf history began. The club's early days were a haven for Hollywood elite and local luminaries seeking respite and camaraderie.
Designed in the Golden Age of golf architecture, the course presents a classic layout with strategic bunkering and undulating greens. The terrain is distinctly coastal, with ocean breezes influencing play and panoramic views providing a stunning backdrop, making club selection on the deceptively tight fairways a constant test. This track favors those who can keep the ball in play and think their way around the course, as blind shots and subtle doglegs demand course knowledge.
While La Jolla Country Club hasn't hosted major professional championships, it remains a revered institution for local golf enthusiasts. The membership, a blend of business leaders and community figures, is known for its vibrant social scene and commitment to preserving the club's heritage.
Reviews
Big fan of the back nine here
I don’t think there’s another course that has a better mix of atmosphere, golf course, and amenities. I wish I could play here everyday. Truly doesn’t get better. Enough hard holes to keep you on your toes and enough getable holes to keep you coming back.
