La Iguana Golf Course

La Iguana Golf Course occupies a distinctive setting along Costa Rica's Pacific coast in the Guanacaste region, part of the Los Sueños Resort and Marina development near Herradura. Designed by Ted Robinson and opened in the late 1990s, the course takes its name from the iguanas that inhabit the tropical landscape and are frequently visible throughout the property. The layout works through dense rainforest terrain with significant elevation changes, offering views of the surrounding jungle canopy and glimpses of the Pacific Ocean from elevated points on the course. The routing incorporates the natural topography with holes that move through narrow corridors carved from the forest, creating a sense of enclosure uncommon in resort golf. La Iguana serves primarily as a resort amenity for guests of Los Sueños, with access also available to local members and daily-fee players.
