WORLD GOLF VILLAGE
🇺🇸 St. Augustine, FL, USA
Designed by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus

The King & Bear course at World Golf Village represents a unique collaboration of two legends, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, each lending their design philosophies to a single, memorable layout. Situated amid the gently rolling terrain of St. Augustine, Florida, the course blends elements of both parkland and open, windswept links. Fairways are generous, inviting aggressive play, while strategically placed bunkers and subtly contoured greens reward thoughtful approaches. The course favors strategic placement over sheer power, though length is still a considerable factor on several of the longer par-4s and par-5s.
Opened in 2000, the course has quickly become a favorite among visiting players and Jacksonville-area residents alike. While King & Bear doesn’t boast a history of hosting major championships, its championship-caliber design has made it a regular site for state and regional amateur events.
Beyond the golf, King & Bear offers a community atmosphere, drawing a membership that values the traditions of the game. Members are known to gather on the patio after rounds, recounting shots and sharing stories as a constant reminder of the fun to be had on the golf course.
Reviews
What a start to a 4 golf trip. Decent course can definitely see the different designs between the bear and the king. Would play again. Love the bridge
Pure. For Jack and Arnie.
Super firm greens, great facilities. Lot of undulation. Fun design
This course was the highlight of my JAX trip this spring. Really interesting layout for the most part, few of the holes felt a bit forced but more the most part was a good mix of challenging holes with scoreable ones
Great Palmer/Nicklaus design, lots of great holes. Fun Par 5s, some challenging Par 4s. Usually in great shape and always a good time
